Awards

Can you feel the love?

It’s always nice when another blogger thinks enough of your blog that they nominate you for an award. Corrina over at Cooking with Corinna has nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award. (Thank you, Corinna!) As part of that, I get to share some info and a few of my favorite blogs with y’all. So in pay-it-forward  fashion, here we go…

Share 7 things about yourself.

  • My favorite cocktail? The hubby’s margarita
  • My favorite wine? Whatever you are serving
  • My favorite beer? A cold one
  • The best thing I have cooked on my Egg? Gotta be this turkey breast
  • What I did on Saturday: Went to my first ever blogging conference
  • What I learned: There are a lot of cool and funny lady bloggers out there
  • Where I want to go on vacation: Lima, Peru

Pass the award onto 15 nominees.

Fifteen? Wow. I have mentioned several before so let me highlight a few I just found:

That’s almost fifteen, right? 😉 Just a few of the inspirational women I met this weekend.

I’ll be back soon (promise) with some full-on BBQ to share — sit tight!

I Would Like to Thank the Academy…

No, I didn’t win an Oscar. It was an honor just to be nominated… for the Illuminating Blogger Award! 🙂 Thanks to foodstoriesblog.com for checking out my little BBQ blog so early on and offering a bit of encouragement.

As part of my nomination, I have been asked to share a little known fact about myself. I will share two:

– I did not eat ketchup (at all) until my early twenties. Onion rings opened my eyes to its awesomeness.

– I rarely eat chicken since my pregnancy lo these many years ago. And I can’t tell people I am allergic — no one is allergic to chicken.

Now, for five blogs I love to read (drumroll, please…)

www.jacobstapp.wordpress.com: Always fun to see what Jake, international man of mystery and gourmand, is up to.

www.thedallasdiva.com: Because she is FAB-u-lous!

www.danatreat.com: My first food blog addiction and still my fave

www.griffinsgrub.wordpress.com: One of my BGE mentors, always cooking up something yum

www.shareyourpower.com: Because YW Dallas does such great work helping women who need a little help

Next up: That story I promised about a famous Italian butcher and the biggest darn steak you’ve ever seen…
